Mom died in 1995. "Birdie" has been handed down to me and lights on each of our Christmas trees. Mom and "Birdie" were published in the Memphis Press Simitar at 50 years of Birdie's lighting. This year, if "birdie" lights, will be his 83rd Christmas. While we don't burn this light the entire time we are opening packages, like Mom did, we do light him every Christmas Eve. This is our family's most precious moment of our Christmas and hope "birdie" lights for many more. |
