I believe the most memorable Christmas is around 1957 or possibly 1958. I received this really neat toy piano from Santa Clause along with the dolls and doll clothes. I had this little cousin that wasn't really interested in the rocking horse that Santa pulled out of the his sack of toys. As my memo... MORE

We have antique sleigh bells that have been in the family a long time. When my children were small, I would run around the outside of the house, very close to the walls. and ring the bells after the kids went to bed. One year, I forgot that I had planted a new bush at the front corner of the house a... MORE

I lived in Gainesville Georgia. Gainesville is fairly large now but at the time, it was your basic small town. It was in the 1950's when Gainesville had a severe ice storm; power was out all over. Daddy was going to get a fire going to warm the house. He forgot to open the flue and smoke filled the ... MORE

From the time I was 10 years old and could play the piano, my sister and I would entertain a captive audience at Mom's house with a Christmas Program. We always had at least 15-20 relatives for Christmas and we were sure each one appreciated our efforts. They did applaud, maybe because it was over. ... MORE

Christmas to me is the best feeling you can ever have when you are surrounded by people you love. To see the kiddos open their gifts and the smiles you receive. When you have love you need nothing else.

Christmas was always a time for family to get together and share memories, play "42" until the wee hours of the morning, eat grandma's exceptional cooking, look at the new quilt grandma had up in frames, and open gifts. As we get older, it is those get togethers I like to remember since many of the ... MORE

I remember Christmas when I was 12 like it was yesterday. My dad had a broken leg and was not able to work. Even though he was drawing short term disability pay, it was not near what our family of four was used to living on. Christmas that year must have been tough for my parents - wishing they coul... Every Christmas since 1969 has been special to me. Our extended family has made sure we get together at the home of one of the siblings. Starting in 1969 I decided that our Mom and Dad and the younger children should have the opportunity to visit with one of us instead of our mother having to do all... MORE

My fondest memories of Christmas was decorating the tree. Dad would bring one home from my mamaw's farm. They looked liked huge shrubs! Dad wasn't the best at picking out the tree but we would make the most of it. After the ornaments were hung, candy canes hung and the icles thrown, the nativity set... MORE

All evening on Christmas Eve, Kim-the older non-believing sister-had been pointing out the red light on a far away utility pole. "That's Rudolph bringing Santa."
